Hi Ingy!

We discussed 'generic make file' earlier on IRC. I made some progress on it.

Status report:
https://phabricator.whonix.org/T217#3388

Repository:
https://github.com/Whonix/genmkfile

"Files in etc/... in root source folder will be installed to /etc/...,
files in usr/... will be installed to /usr/... and so forth. This should
make renaming, moving files around, packaging, etc. very simple."

What do you think about that repository layout?

Asking this, because It would be interesting to get some of your
repositories packaged [for Debian].

I haven't tested it yet, but for example, it seems to me
https://github.com/ingydotnet/bashplus is something that the bash word
urgently needs. Did you consider announcing it on the help-bash mailing
list or somewhere? Also https://github.com/ingydotnet/git-subrepo looks
interesting.

I am also wondering if it would make sense to port
https://github.com/Whonix/gpg-bash-lib to bashplus to have a unified
bash library interface and to archive better abstraction.

CC'd whonix-devel, by replying to this mail, your answer will also be
posted on the whonix-devel public mailing list.

Cheers,
Patrick
